One sunflower bold enough to outlast every journey

At the center of this traveler bag is a large sunflower appliqué — deep golden-yellow petals fanning outward in layered, quilted rows, each petal stitched with fine parallel lines that give the flower real dimension and texture. The dark chocolate-brown center is densely embroidered, almost velvety to the eye. Behind it, teal and forest-green leaves anchor the bloom against a patchwork body made up of bold rectangular blocks in hot pink, crimson, burnt orange, mustard, and soft purple — a palette that reads warm and vivid without being garish. Claire and Riley chose this piece themselves, the way they choose everything at the shop their mother Margaret opened here in Cape May in 1978: because it stopped them in their tracks and they couldn't imagine putting it back down.

• Quilted Patchwork Body — The rectangular patchwork blocks — in shades of crimson, orange, mustard, and pink — are individually quilted so the whole bag has a satisfying, structured softness you can see from across the room.
• Details — 19" × 9" × 9", roomy enough for a long weekend and soft enough to squash into a car boot.
• Dimensional Sunflower Appliqué — The large center sunflower is built up in raised, layered fabric with row-stitched petals that catch the light differently depending on the angle.
• Wrapped Fabric Handles — The top handles are wrapped in the same warm red-orange fabric used in the bag body, so nothing looks like an afterthought.
• The Last of This Run — We took what the workshop had left. Once these are gone we will not be getting them again.
• Looking After Her — Spot clean with a soft damp cloth and let her air dry. No tumble dryer — it flattens the quilting.

You're lifting this off the baggage carousel in a sea of black rolling suitcases, and the sunflower — all those gold petals and that deep brown center — makes it absolutely impossible to miss.
